Gal Gadot, the Israeli actress who starred in the first “Wonder Woman” movie and has since become a worldwide superstar, reportedly earned $10 million for the sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984”. This is a massive increase from her original salary of $300,000 for the first movie which grossed over $800 million. However, despite earning 33 times more for the sequel, Gadot’s salary still falls short compared to leading male action stars, highlighting the ongoing gender pay gap in Hollywood. Nevertheless, director Patty Jenkins emphasizes that Gadot is not in this business for money, but rather to use cinema for good. Gadot herself believes that it is important to show girls the potential of what they can be and hopes to inspire them through her portrayal of Wonder Woman. “Wonder Woman 1984” is set to be released on December 25th.
